World's Greatest Dad

We went to the cemetery today to visit my dad's and bro’s resting place. Dad passed away a few months after college. I remember a couple of days prior to his passing he even teased me to buy him lechon paksiw. It was a good thing I did oblige and bought him lunch that day. Little did I know that that would be his last request from me.

Looking back I thought dad was too strict and too stiff. Now that I now have my own little boy I appreciate all the things he did for me. For all the “mean” things he did to me, I learned all the values I now cherish and would also want to pass on to my own child.

Wherever you are Tatang, I love you.

♥ Long Weekends

I love long weekends.  It gives me time to rest and spend more quality time with the hubby and the son.  That's why the most difficult part after a long weekend is going back to work.

How I wish we could all have perpetual money in the bank so that we don't have to work anymore! Or at least have the luxury to earn a living from what we really want to do in life.

Trick or Treat at the Office

Today marks a milestone for my little boy. I had fun watching him enjoy playing with the other kids at the trick-or-treating event in the office this afternoon. It's such a huge thing for me since he hasn't been fond of other kids ever except today. Awww... my boy's growing up.

I'm happy that he's happy.

Mother's Love

Today’s another exhausting day. It’s just hard to believe that I’m still with my current company with the workload that I have. There’s too much work there that I can’t fit everything in 8 hours. I really have to take some of my work home. On top of it, some of the bosses aren’t that supportive too which makes life almost like a living hell. It’s not good to be working so hard only to feel like you’re just a mediocre, average, or worst, inefficient.

It’s sad but also proves how much we can take and take and take for our family. Keeping our family in mind, we can adjust anytime to any situation or person no matter what it takes.

Wish List

I'm drooling over these things but budget's already done for the year and I can't afford them just yet. So I'm just gonna stare at the pics and wish they'd come true...

Math and Science

My son's periodical exams happened just last week. Another crazy week for me since reviewing was another task on my plate on top of the typically demanding work load. I love doing this though because I can see the progress of my son in terms of his academic feat.

It was Wednesday when we were studying Math. Learning math stuff wasn’t that difficult for him so I commended him on that and told him he seems good in math. His response was: “Mom, I’m also good in science,” and then recited “Parts of a leaf – veins, midrib, petiole, margin.”

Missing Blogging

All of a sudden, I feel the urge of writing again. I haven’t been in the blogging scene for about a year now and I guess I didn’t miss it until now. But now that I’m back in the corporate world, I can no longer call myself a work-at-home mom. Hence I'm calling this new blog, Corporate Mommy.

I joined this IT company last February after about half a year of hiatus. Since then, I’ve always been so busy with work and the usual mom and wife stuff. While work just keeps me more and more stressed week by week, my kid just helps me keep it together. Plus having wonderful “us” times with hubby help me keep my mind off work for a little while.

It’s really just hard to find time for everything. It still makes me feel that I could do more if there’s more than 24 hours a day. 8-10 hours of work is too much while trying to fit the other aspects of mommy life for the rest of the 24-hour day.

And that’s exactly where this new blog will be revolving around – a day in the life of a working mom. It’s sometimes good to vent out frustrations about work, rave about accomplishments, or share ups and downs in the family scene.

Till the next time I’m able to find time to write.
