COVID-19

This is a post I saw on FB and I tweaked a bit. CCTO.

Just so I NEVER forget. Today is April 5, 2020.
Gas price is down to Php35.00
All schools are cancelled and some were moved online. Kuys was supposed to take his final exams on the week that the Community Quarantine was declared. As advised by his school, a DepEd Memorandum was released regarding the implementation of the suspension. The 4th Quarter exam will no longer proceed and the grades will be computed according to the DepEd memorandum No. 042 s.2020. Meanwhile, Little D's school sent worksheets and drill sheets to be submitted by April 14th.
Self-distancing measures on the rise.
Tape on the floors at stores to help distance customers (6ft) from each other.
Restaurants are closed and only take out is allowed. There are food deliveries that are available as well but cut-off is as early as 3PM or 5PM.
Limited number of people inside stores.
Non-essential stores and businesses are mandated closed. When the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) started on March 15th, all malls were closed.
Entire sports seasons cancelled.
Concerts, tours, festivals, entertainment events have been cancelled. I was supposed to go to a concert with my friends on April 6th... that's tomorrow. That too, was cancelled.
Any gatherings like weddings, family celebrations, and funerals have been cancelled. It's a sad news that my MIL passed away when all these started. Her funeral was exactly on the supposed start of ECQ. We still got to eat out at Panda Express after the burial. That's the last day we ever went out.
No masses, churches are closed.
No gatherings of 50 or more, then 20 or more, now 10 or less.
Children's outdoor play parks are closed.
Shortage of masks, gowns, gloves for our front-line workers.
Shortage of ventilators for the critically ill.
Panic buying sets in no disinfecting supplies, no laundry soap, no hand sanitizer.
Shelves are bare. Though most groceries have already replenished their stocks. Hubby was able to buy groceries last May 31st.
Manufacturers, distilleries and other businesses switch their lines to help make visors, masks, hand sanitizer and PPE.
Government has check points in every province and is closed to all non-essential travel.
Airline tickets are cheap but we can't travel. That's basically the reason why tickets are cheap.
Press conferences daily from IATF.
Daily updates on new cases, recoveries, and deaths. As of today, worldwide, there are 1.2M cases. Highest of which is in the USA with 311,658. Though this all started in China, they were able to control the pandemic in their country. In the Philippines, there are now 3,246 cases with 152 deaths and 64 recoveries.
Barely anyone on the roads. As a result of the ECQ, only one person per family can only go out. That person has to have a quarantine pass.
We have better air quality as a result.
People are wearing masks and gloves outside. It is actually a requirement here to wear a mask if someone has to go out.
Essential service workers are terrified to go to work.
Medical field workers are afraid to go home to their families.
"Flatten the curve" is a daily saying, along with "We are in this together," and "We heal as one".
This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, declared March 11, 2020.

Why, you ask, do I write this?
It will be a yearly reminder that life is precious and not to take the things we dearly love for granted.
We have so much!
Be thankful. Be grateful.
Be kind to each other - love one another - support everyone.
